Michael has extensive experience advising clients on a wide range of matters, frequently involving high-stakes business and commercial disputes, contract negotiation and drafting, and real estate law. During his 15 years of practice prior to joining Stone & Sallus, he gained valuable insight while working at both Am Law 100 and boutique firms, and a brief period managing his own practice. Impressed by Stone & Sallus’s mix of a small firm’s collegiality with a large firm’s scope of practice and resources, Michael joined Stone & Sallus in 2024.
He has achieved success on both the defense and plaintiff sides in virtually every aspect of litigation and has obtained favorable verdicts for his clients as first-chair and second-chair trial counsel. Michael is an empathetic attorney who has always had a passion for counseling his clients—whether a small business or Fortune 500 company—and zealously advocating for their best interests. He is admitted to practice before all state courts in California, as well as the federal Central District of California, Northern District of California, and Eastern District of California.
Michael is a native Minnesotan and a proud “Double Duck,” with both a juris doctorate and Bachelor of Science degrees from the University of Oregon. During law school, he spent a summer teaching a course on the American legal system at the School of Law of Harbin Institute of Technology in Harbin, China. In 2014, he and his wife relocated to Redondo Beach from Northern California. Outside of work, Michael enjoys spending time with his wife and their two kids, often rooting for the Ducks, playing sports, and the occasional trip to Disneyland. At home, they enjoy playing board games and watching movies with their mini goldendoodle, Cupcake, and cat, Tiggy.
